Rolex Datejust: reference, size and bracelet

Datejust is the Rolex with the date window and the fluted or smooth bezel. Two Datejust watches can differ by a decade and several thousand dollars. The title is your spec sheet.

Size and reference

36 mm is the classic size. 41 mm is the current larger one. Older 31 mm pieces show up too. If the title includes a reference such as 126334 or 116233, use that number to compare. The same reference should mean the same case generation. A listing without a reference can still be right, but you have less to compare.

Dial and bracelet

Jubilee and Oyster bracelets are both common. A diamond dial is not a small variation on a black dial. Read the dial colour and the metal: steel, Rolesor (steel and gold), or full gold. Those three are different prices on purpose.
